Prescriptions can only be written by a doctor. Once you have been issued with a prescription it may have a computer slip attached to it listing the medication you have been given. This slip enables you to obtain a repeat prescription without seeing your doctor.
When needed, tick the box against the medication required and hand the slip in at the surgery. You can also post it to us.
Telephone calls to our prescription line on 01803 867901 should be made between 10:00 - 13:00 Monday to Friday and 14:00 - 16:00 Monday afternoons only. Alternatively you can order online by following the link at the top of this page and completing a simple registration.
Repeat prescriptions are processed as quickly as possible but please understand that all requests must be approved by a doctor. Repeat prescription requested before 16:00 will be available for collection from reception 48 hours later.
If your prescription normally goes to a pharmacy, please be aware that we are unable to tell you when your medication will be ready to collect from the pharmacy. So please make sure you order you order your medications in good time so that you do not run out.
NOTE: Any prescription requests posted through our letter box on a Saturday will be part of our Monday morning processing and, therefore, cannot be collected before 14:30 on Wednesday.
You can collect your prescription from the surgery, or any chemist of your choice.

There are three chemists in Totnes – Boots, Co-op and Morrisons.
Boots is located just inside the main surgery entrance, Co-op is at the lower end of Fore Street and there is a chemist at Morrisons Supermarket.
If you wish your prescription to be dispensed at one of these pharmacies please inform them and they will arrange it for you.

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
